How Much Does a Custom Fursuit Cost?
One of the most common questions we get is simply: how much does a fursuit cost? The honest answer is "it depends," but here's what actually drives the price up or down.
Price generally follows suit type
The biggest factor is how much of the character you're building. A standalone tail is the cheapest entry point, often starting around $150. A standalone head is typically $550-$750. A partial (head, paws, and tail) usually runs $800-$1,200. A full fullsuit - head, body, paws, feet, and tail - is the biggest commitment, typically $1,500-$2,500 or more depending on detail.
What pushes the price up
- Detail level: multi-color markings, fine airbrush shading, and sculpted texture all add time.
- Add-ons: follow-me LED eyes, a magnetic quick-release jaw, a built-in cooling fan, or digitigrade legs each add cost.
- Character complexity: horns, scales, extra limbs, or an unusual silhouette take more sculpting time than a standard mammal base.
What doesn't have to break the budget
You don't need to pay everything upfront. Most studios, including ours, work on a reservation-fee-plus-installments model rather than a large deposit - see our payment plan details for how that works here.
