How a commission works

Five steps from sketch to suit.

1

Reference & details

Share your reference sheet, character description, and the suit type you want (fullsuit, partial, or kigurumi).

2

Quote & payment plan

We review your reference and contact you with a fixed quote, then set up a flexible payment plan that works for you.

3

Approval & sculpting

Once you approve materials, we model your character - a 3D printed base or a hand-carved foam pattern, depending on the build.

4

Build & WIP updates

Paws, tail, and other pieces are built in parallel, with continuous work-in-progress photos sent your way.

5

Completion & shipping

Your finished suit is inspected, packed with care, and shipped straight to your door.

Booking policy: A $100 deposit reserves your slot in the queue, with the remaining balance covered through your payment plan. Commissions can't be canceled without a valid reason once work has begun.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I request changes mid-build?
Small adjustments are welcome before furring begins. Larger changes after that stage may affect timeline and price.
Do you sell premade fursuits, or only custom?
Both. We take custom commissions built to your character, and we also keep a rotating stock of premade pieces that ship right away. Message us to check current premade availability.
Do I need a reference sheet to commission a fursuit?
It helps, but it's not required. If you don't have one, describe your character and share any reference images you do have, and we'll work from that.
What's the difference between a fursuit and a mascot costume?
A mascot costume usually represents a team or brand and is built for durability over many wearers. A fursuit is built for one person, sized to their measurements, and designed around a specific original character (a "fursona") with more detailed sculpting and expression.
Will a premade fursuit fit me?
Premade heads, paws, and tails are generally one-size and fit most adults comfortably. If you're between sizes or unsure, message us with your measurements before buying and we'll let you know if it's a good fit.
What measurements do you need for a custom commission?
Typically height, weight, chest/waist/hip measurements, hand and foot size, and head circumference. We'll send a simple measurement guide once your quote is confirmed - no special tools needed.
What if something breaks after I receive my suit?
Every commission includes one free touch-up repair within the first year for normal wear issues. After that, or for premade pieces, we offer paid repairs and refurbishing any time.
Can I get a fursuit under $2,000?
Yes. Heads (from about $550), partials (from about $800), and kigurumi-style suits (from about $650) all typically fall under $2,000. Most fullsuits also start under $2,000 before add-ons. Our payment plan also lets you spread the cost from a $100 reservation instead of paying it all upfront.
Are you a fursuit maker near me?
Kfursuits is based in Montana, USA, and ships fursuit commissions worldwide - so wherever you're commissioning from, we can build and ship to you. There's no need to work with a local maker for a great fit.
Do you make kemono-style fursuits?
Yes - kemono-style, toony, and realistic sculpting are all options. Tell us the style you're going for when you request a quote and we'll match your reference sheet's proportions and expression.
